If you're planning to get married in Cape Town, there are
two things you have to decide - where to hold the ceremony
and where to spend your wedding night. If a beach wedding
appeals, then there is no better place than Long Beach in
Kommetjie, with the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain, the
Sentinel and Chapmans Peak. As one of the most
beautiful but least crowded beaches in Cape Town the only
sound you will hear as you say your vows is the turquoise
Atlantic water caressing the golden sand. Kommetjie
has become the hottest location in Cape Town in recent years
due to its charm and unspoilt beauty - something which has
become increasingly hard to find elsewhere, and this has
made Long Beach a popular destination with some of the
world’s best fashion photographers.
LXIX is a simply stunning thatched house on the
beach, opposite the famous Sunset Reef, and the dunes in
front of the house are the best spot on Long Beach for a
wedding ceremony to be held. The house has a huge
64 square metre living room with a double storey vaulted
ceiling, and a large patio, so it could be the ideal location for
your reception if you are inviting a modest number of people.
There is a double garage for two cars and plenty of parking
outside the house and in the nearby public car park.
As the house is on the top of a dune, your guests
can sit in the shade and enjoy the stunning views from the
large terrace, relax around the pool or step straight onto the
beach at the perfect spot for your ceremony. If you
want somewhere really special for your first night, the huge
master bedroom has a vaulted thatched ceiling and doors
opening onto a large deck, so you can lie in bed and watch the
waves breaking on the beach outside. Finally, if you
plan to have friends or relatives staying with you, the house is
large enough to accommodate up to 8 people, and all the
double rooms have wonderful sea views.
You only get married once (unless you’re my Father
– four times), so make it the best day of your life!
